Dhari Devi Maa is the guardian deity of Char Dham. She is also called the Guardian of Uttarakhand. Accoording to the local folks of Uttarakhand, the idol changes its appearance from a girl to woman and than to an old lady.
Maa Dhari Devi temple is located at the bank of Alakhnanda river in Kalyasaur, Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand.
According to the Srimad Devi Bhagwat, the shrine is one of the 108 Shakti Sthal in India.
Many people believe that the flood of Uttarakhand in year 2013 was due to shifting the idol of Maa Dhari Devi from its original place.
It is also said that the attempt of shifting the idol was also done by a local king in year 1882. Due to which a heavy landslide has occurred in Kedarnath.
