Surkhanda Devi Temple, Tehri Garhwal, Uttarakhand

Surkhanda Devi Temple is situated in Tehri Garhwal district of Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand. The deity of this temple is Surkhanda Devi. As we know, Uttarakhand is second Indian state by height. The first state by height is Sikkim. The temple is about 9045ft above sea level. The temple is surrounded with dense forest and mountains. Local people have a great faith in this temple.

     The meaning of "Dev Bhoomi" in English is "The Lnd of God". The title of  Dev Bhoomi is given to Uttarakhand by Rishi and  Muni’s. Uttarakhand is very famous with the name Dev Bhoomi. There are many reasons behind this. Uttarakhand is famous with the name Dev Bhoomi from ancient times. Rishi and Muni’s called this place Dev Bhoomi.
