Mahasu Devta Temple, Uttarkashi District Garhwal, Uttarakhand

Mahasu Devta Temple is located in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. It is on the bank of Tons River at Hanol village. It is near to the Chakarata which comes in Dehradun. The Archaeological Survey of India includes this temple in the list of ancient temple in Dehradun circle, Uttarakhand.

This temple comes in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand. The primary deity of this temple is Mahasu Devta. This deity is worshiped by the local Garhwali people of the region.

Mahasu Devta temple is about 190km from Dehradun and 156 km from Mussoori. There is a fair held every year in the month of August at this place. Local people celebrate this fair with peace and harmony. The majority of people at this fair comes from the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand.
